Crucifix
Normally, while I do honor it, I don't dwell too much on the crucifixtion. The real story that weekend, the best gift I've ever received or could receive, is the resurrection. When someone gives me a gift and leaves the price tag on, I generally take it off and try to forget what it said. That way it doesn't color my appreciation of the gift. It doesn't become the definition of the gift. It doesn't become more important than the gift. I'm afraid that some people get stuck on Good Friday and don't quite make it to Easter.
Anyway, putting up those pictures yesterday, well, for some reason it made me want to put up an interesting picture of a crucifix. After all, from where I'm typing I can see two, one that was my father's and one that my little sister brought back from Mexico for me many, many moons ago.
And I found this!
The raw material, cut Louis Vuitton handbags, was worth thousands even before it was transformed by artist R. Lloyd Ming. And the collector that just bought it won't disclose how much he paid for it, but the ettalier (?), anyway, the guy who sold it to him did say that he got a deal because of the economy. So, what's more important here? The image or the funding around it? lol
