A Salute

 Or A Toast!
Here are to all the gay men and women who protected my freedom and liberty when they weren't free and at liberty to announce to the world how wonderful they were in their full wholeness and sacred beauty!
And here to our allies, all of the Black soldiers who came back from WWII only to find that the GI Bill was not going to help them buy houses because of their complexions.
And the Asian Americans who could protect us because our government had locked them in camps for the duration.
And the Indians who used their language as an unbreakable code.
And Latino/as in uniform. May I learn more about them soon.
I already know about the ladies from hell!! Go, Scots!
